Last Days Of Decadence

Adventures Close to Home shifts its hefty ass eastwards again for the irresistible allure of too-much-fun and nicer cocktails that hot new venue Last Days of Decadence promises us... across two floors of art deco splendor and a ridiculously pumping soundsystem, ACTH promise a night to remember.

To make it really quite special, we have the UK live debut of hotly tipped blog superstars and relentless party goof-offs Gameboy/Gamegirl: bringing their hot coochies all the way from Melbourne Australia, their fruity blend of milkshakes, shoes, novelty sunglasses, rumps, bumps and party humps will inevitably result in a severe case of the dirty damps...

PLUS we have the irrepressible talents of MIA's favourite MC (he's signed to her label), Afrikan Boy brings his global ghetto beats and effortless, unique rhymes to ACTH for the second time, direct from a global tour supporting Bjork & Prince with his homegirl.

Killer DJ support comes from Girlcore alumni Isa GT & Naomi//, blogging heroes Headphonesex & the Slutty Fringe and the lush, mind-spangling italo-disco-techno-arpeggio-core of Ben Richards and the Danger Society, as well as ACTH residents Ill Will & Choaf.

Stricken City play reverby pop songs lingering on lovers and tramps jumping between places and pictures... Fronted by the indestructible Rebekah Raa, they continue to win hearts, minds, legs, feet and necklines all around town. Early shows for ACTH last year included supports with Mystery Jets and Friendly Fires and promised great things to come. A winter of dreams and structured play has bourne fruit with the stunning new video for 'Tak o Tak', a free EP download, and a limited edition 7" set to be released on our own ACTH Recordings on 28th July.

Makers of “fast dance music with Basque instruments, synthesizers and our voices”, Crystal Fighters have been hiding out in the hills with a cowbell, a drum machine and a girl saying “oh” to create the mesmerising, sparse, globo-wonk-funk of “I Love London”. Nice to hear that someone still does. Live, they like to make a tremendous amount of noise and bump into each other.

Wave Machines are from Liverpool and create airy, looping pop music that recalls the Friendly Fires covering Prefab Sprout, or Orange Juice getting into a smoothie making competition with the Mystery Jets. Fruity:

After rocking the main room at the last week's Insomniacs Ball alongside Riton, Radioclit and Paris's DJ Orgasmic, as well as last months dreadful behaviour in Fabric's room 3, ACTH DJs Ill Will and Choaf are looking forward to their debut appearance on the dance stage at this years Glastonbury as well as the start of their residency for Vice @ Proud, beginning in July. Influences: Adam and the Ants, Aphex Twin, Ariel Pink, Add n to X, Alex Chilton, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire - and thats just the A's... Plugs - LIVE
Plugs are a three headed, post-rave, afro - influenced groove monster: Fronted by Does it Offend You Yeah's Morgan Quintance, they're perfectly capable of mutating from infectious, skewed funk to taut, angular post-punk before casually veering off into thumb piano-driven left field pop. www.myspace.com/plugsmusic

Detachments - LIVE
The exceedingly hot labelmates of They Came from the Stars provide spine tingling electronic / organic party jams that sit somewhere between an acid house warehouse rave in Manchester circa '89, Danceteria circa 1982 and a Throbbing Gristle squat party in Hackney circa 1979. Just where we like em. www.myspace.com/detachments
