Influenced by The Fall, New Order, Fleetwood Mac, The Gossip, The Band, Nas, Leadbelly, June and Johnny, spirituals, southern soul, westward expansion, easterly winds, northern lights and gypsies. Holy Hail have supported The Rapture in the UK and played Trash, Liars Club and Queens of Noize. In the US, as well as numerous sold out NYC shows, they recently played at Modular's CMJ Party alongside Van She. what they say about them... "Gospel-hop-electro-country...punctuated with the odd piercing scream..." - trash club "Sounds like Glass Candy getting down and dirty with a fractured bass heavy breakneck paced hillbilly disco thang. Fuck angular guitar, let's square dance with Beth & Brace & Hannah, throw some neon 80s disco shake-it-beat-it-hop-it L'Trimm shapes for added excitement. So many ace noises it's like being 8 again." - 20jazzfunkgreats "Make room for these guys between Love Is All and Long Blondes - swooning, lovesick hooks that are nonetheless aloof enough... There's an unexpected bridge with hypnotic guitar pulses, but the bigger surprise is the song's gentle country-western lilt..." - pitchfork "Like the dirty south of The Gossip mixed with some B-52s madness, or maybe even something like the Scissor Sisters mixed with Rilo Kiley. Like if Rilo Kiley wasn't dripping in Omaha infused country and the Scissor Sisters weren't totally overproduced Top Of The Pops nonsense. New wave vs. house music for the thinkers." - bigstereo "Holy Hail are in sum far more than their four charmingly lo-fi parts. Wielding new-wave keys, post-punk bass lines, and occasional hip-hop beats, the quartet masterfully constructs moody backing tracks at once languorous yet spirited, innocent yet sinister under girl/boy vocals." - flavorpill This is Holy Hail:
